For your pet – for our future
Future - what? Future-oriented. This means that we know: We can all contribute to a good future. Especially manufacturing companies, of which we are one. This is a great responsibility for us. Because we don't just want to fill bowls for the vitality of your pet, we also want to be as balanced as possible.
This is the path we follow. We always keep a very close eye on our production, our processes and our products. To always discover the best alternative.
And you know what? We received a very good rating from the GREEN BRANDS AWARD in the General category, which evaluates the life cycle of products and the origin of raw materials.
Environment
Deep dive: How do we want to avoid CO2 in the future?
Our mission: By 2045, we want to reduce the largest possible proportion of CO2e emissions for which we are responsible in production and along our value chain to zero. We call this our Net Zero mission. The United Nations defines Net Zero as “the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible”.
We have put a lot of thought into this and are currently defining an itinerary.
Step by step:
1. New heat pumps: Green, electrical energy and ambient energy/heat are converted into usable thermal or heating energy.
2. 100% green electricity with a guarantee of origin and actively saving electricity: In addition to economic reasons, this has the effect of making more green electricity available to the general power grid.
3. Our third photovoltaic system: thanks to solar energy, we generate part of the electricity for our production with renewable energies.

More about insects
And why do insects in dog food help?
Insects are a great source of protein for our four-legged friends. They provide all the important nutrients that we know from better-known protein sources such as beef and the like.
We use the larva of the black soldier fly in our insect food. And they feed primarily on overripe vegetables and leftovers from fruit canning. The soil in which the larvae grow is returned to the fields as fertilizer. The waste from feed production is in turn fed into a regional biogas plant. There they form a renewable energy source.
Great job, isn't it?

More about veggies
And why vegetarian dog food?
First things first: Our partner on four paws may be descended from the wolf, but a lot has changed over the centuries at man's side. Especially in the dog's digestive tract. Of course, our furry friends need proteins, fats, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins - but these do not necessarily have to come from animal sources. Modern dogs can easily digest plant-based food.
And now the plot twist: plant-based recipes are ideal for a future-oriented diet.

Our packaging
That's a good one: Inside and out
Our focus on top quality and sustainable ideas does not stop at the packaging. That's why we are currently converting a lot of our packaging: away from composite material and towards easily recyclable plastic.
The material we use is made exclusively from polypropylene. This makes the packaging well recyclable at scale. This allows us to reduce the amount of material used to a minimum and make it easy for you to dispose of. At the same time, the new packaging keeps the taste and smell nicely isolated without becoming greasy. Win-win.

Our social projects
We not only pay close attention to our products and processes, but also to the bigger picture. That's why we actively support social projects. Whether animal shelters in Germany or our forest conservation project in Tanzania. With our financial contribution to the Ntakata Mountains forest conservation project, we are helping to protect the climate and the habitat for people and animals.
